Hardware, Software, IT Access, Copy Card
- The professorships must ensure the necessary hardware is available;
- employees should be supplied with a notebook on their first day of work. Responsibility for ordering lies with the professorship.
- Software can be ordered via the Regional Computing Center (RRZ).
- You can find the RRZ Service Portal icon on your laptop. Under “Catalog > Software” you can order the necessary software from the RRZ. If you want to order fee-based software, you must clarify all details relating to the assumption of cost and the cost element with your supervisor before you start ordering. Your supervisor will be asked for permission as part of the ordering process. We recommend that you order free and fee-based software separately, for all programs in the shopping cart will be provided in bundles when all orders have been approved.
- The B-Kennung (uni username) will be created automatically.
- The uni username is a personal identifier and not transferable. It is 7 characters long and always begins with a “b” followed by 2 letters and 4 digits (e.g., BAC1234). Employees receive their ID from HR as part of the hiring process. Your uni username will be valid as long as you are a member of Universität Hamburg.
- You will need it to access various systems such as STiNE, the Staff Service Portal, and WiFi.
- How can I get a copy card for the central printer? The Regional Computing Center (RRZ) provides all Universität Hamburg employees access to central printing services, so-called central printers. See further information at https://www.rrz.uni-hamburg.de/services/drucken/print-staff.htm. Find all details and forms related to copy card requests under the “Anleitungen und Formulare” (instructions and forms) tab. Your supervisor must authorize your printing privileges via at least one cost element before you can use your card. Make sure you have registered your copy card at a central printer before using it the first time. See the link above for instructions on registering. Important: If required, you must apply for a transponder to gain access to the central printing services premises.
- Select the printing options “UHHPrinter_Farbe” or “UHHPrinter_SW”. Printing requests will not be processed before you have registered for a central printer and actually printed the jobs. Printing requests will generally be saved to the server for printing within 24 hours only.
- STiNE access and STiNE representatives: Use your uni username to log into the web version of STiNE, the student information system, and the essential tool for organizing courses and booking a room, at www.stine.uni-hamburg.de. Find the STiNE ServiceLine in the RRZ at https://www.rrz.uni-hamburg.de/en/beratung-und-kontakt/serviceline.html.
- Tip: If you tick “Forward messages to uni-mail-account“ in your STiNE account, STiNE messages will be automatically forwarded to your email account where you can read them without having to log into STiNE.
- Teaching staff can become or name deputies so that more people can execute certain operations related to a course in the STiNE campus management system. For example, examination results, course information updates, message dispatches, etc. Deputies are assigned for a limited period of time only, generally for a year. You can download the application form at https://www.wiso.uni-hamburg.de/studium/service.html
