Information, Documents, and Forms
Many newcomers wonder if they know everything they need to know. The resources and ports of call described below provide all crucial information about working at our Faculty.
University Staff Service Portal (KUS)
The Staff Portal is the central platform for information provided by the University Administration. You can access it with the uni username (B-Kennung), which will be made available to you automatically at the start of your employment. The Staff Portal provides all relevant information about university-wide operations and procedures.
Users can browse it by topic, target group, or full-text search.
Faculty-specific information: WiSo faculty forms page and newsletter
Under “A-Z Faculty Topics” and “Faculty Forms Page,” the faculty home page provides further information about faculty-specific procedures and forms, which you cannot find in the KUS.
Moreover, the faculty bundles information about people, procedural changes, funding programs, and dates into the WiSo Newsletter, which the office of the dean usually sends out per mailing list once a month. It’s always worth the read!
Below the faculty level there are but a few processes and forms which are regulated by the departments. Find more information from the office responsible.
Teaching staff can find a lot of information tailored to their needs on the departmental academic office webpages under “Services for Teaching Staff.”
Furthermore, many faculty areas provide individual information about procedures, forms, and funding formats on their respective home pages, for instance, the faculty graduate schools, the WiSo Library or the office of the dean for research.
Faculty mailing list
The faculty oversees various mailing lists, which automatically include all new employees. From your first day of work, you should automatically receive all emails that specifically address your group, all department teaching staff, or simply all faculty members. This should also include invitations to relevant committees, such as the Faculty Council or the Department Council.
If you think you are not getting all relevant emails, ask the Resource Management Team at ressourcen.wiso@uni-hamburg.de to check whether you have been included in all mailing lists.
