CATI Software
The acronym CATI stands for “computer-assisted telephone interview.” This is a computer-assisted telephone interview for which the interviewer contacts the interviewees by telephone and enters their answers into a computer-based questionnaire.
The Research Lab team at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences is ready to provide you with advice and support in the Survey Lab throughout the planning, performance, and evaluation of standardized telephone interviews (CATI). In particular, we would be happy to support you with our expertise in the following:
- research project design
- operationalization
- design and programming of the questionnaire
- pretesting
- random-sample planning and procedure
- collection, preparation, analysis, and documentation of the data
Only researchers at the WiSo Faculty can use the CATI services, as long as the projects funding originates from faculty budgets. Furthermore, the use of the Survey Lab for teaching purposes is possible.
We use the following software to perform CATI surveys:
Voxco
Voxco enables researchers to carry out standardized, computer-assisted telephone interviews. For this purpose, the Research Lab can provide a total of 35 interviewer licenses as well as 2 supervisor licenses. A predictive dialer contacts the telephone samples automatically and allows the calls to be recorded. Thus, Voxco is capable to realise extensive representative survey, as well as qualitataive investigations.
