Cooperation with The British University in Egypt
The WiSo Research Laboratory cooperates with the Experimental and Behavioural Economics Laboratory (EBEL) of The British University in Egypt (BUE) in Cairo, Egypt. The EBEL lab can be used synchronously with the WiSo research lab. The cross-linking of the laboratories allows simultaneous research and interaction of test persons in Cairo and Hamburg.
With the support of the WiSo Research Laboratory, a professional academic experimental laboratory for conducting economic behavioural experiments was established at the BUE within the framework of a cooperation agreement. To this end, specialised courses and workshops on setting up the laboratory and the software solutions also used in the Hamburg laboratory were held in Cairo and Hamburg. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Andreas Lange, Professor of Economics at the UHH, this project was funded by the "German Academic Exchange Service" (DAAD).
For booking requests for synchronous use of the WiSo research lab and the lab in Cairo, please select the option "Mix of subjects from Hamburg and EBEL in Cairo, Egypt" in the booking form below.
The British University of Egypt
The British University in Egypt (BUE) is a renowned private university in Cairo, Egypt, founded in 2005. Through its close cooperation with British partner institutions, BUE is one of the few higher education institutions in Egypt that awards degrees generally recognised in the UK. Currently, its student numbers are characterised by a strong growth dynamic, which is particularly a credit to the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. In the coming years, BUE aims to expand its competences with new teaching and research content. For some years now, there have been contacts between the economics and social science faculties of the BUE and the UHH at the level of individual researchers. Among other things, master's students and young researchers from BUE were introduced to the basics of a professional economic experimental laboratory in the WISO experimental laboratory at UHH as part of a summer school.
