About Us

As the central service facility in the Faculty, the WISO Research Lab provides comprehensive services for planning, designing, and performing experiments and surveys to members of the Faculty and Universität Hamburg, as well as to external researchers. Its main task is the long-term creation and provision of professional research resources that meet the highest scientific standards.

An economic experimental laboratory as well as a modern academic telephone laboratory are available. The Experimental Lab has 30 fully enclosed cabins for a pool of more than 7,000 student survey subjects. For experiments involving larger numbers, it can be expanded to over 200 simultaneously usable computer workstations in the CIP pool of the WISO Faculty.

The telephone laboratory has 35 VoIP CATI stations (including predictive dialer) for a team of professionally trained student interviewers. For field experiments and CAPI surveys, there is also a mobile laboratory with 41 two-in-one tablet computers including professional technical and methodological support.

WISO Research Lab usage and fee structure are governed by the Terms of Use of the WISO Research Laboratory as well as the Regulations for Calculating Fees for the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences Research Laboratory.
