Set up course reserves

As teaching staff of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences or the Faculty of Business Administration (Hamburg Business School), you can set up course reserves in the Library WISO/BWL. These are usually for the current semester. This literature is kept on a separate designated shelf and may not be borrowed.

Select the library where you would like to set up course reserves.

Business and Economics Library

  • As a professor or administrative staff for a chair, you can complete and send us this form (Word) and we will set up course reserves for you.
  • Depending on availability, required media will be prepared for your course reserves within a period of about four weeks. You can view the status of the resources available by clicking on overview of course reserves. You will not be notified separately. If any items are not available, you will be informed by the Acquisitions and Cataloging Team.
  • Literature is financed from central funds of the Library budget.
  • Multiple copies within course reserves are not permitted.
  • If you would like to make any changes, for example, add new literature or rename your course reserves, please send an email to the Acquisitions and Cataloging Team.
  • One semester after the specified deadline, the User Services Team will send professors an email to ask if their course reserves should be removed or extended to a certain date.

If you have any further questions, please speak with a staff member of the Acquisitions and Cataloging Team.

Social Sciences Library

  • You create a list of the books you would like to have included.
Please retrieve books that are already in the Library’s collection directly from the shelves. If a book is currently checked out, we reserve this book for you.
  • You can submit a purchase request for books that are not in the Library’s collection.
  • At the circulation desk, please provide your contact data, including the title of your course and the period for which the course reserves should be in place.
  • We will prepare the books for your course reserves.
  • Via the overview of course reserves, you can view the list of books on a Campus Catalogue page.
  • If not already specified, at the end of the semester you will receive a request as to when the course reserves should be removed or if they should be continued for the next semester.
  • The shelf with the course reserves is located in the immediate vicinity of the circulation desk.

If you have any further questions, please speak with a staff member of the Social Sciences Library.
