Social Impact Research Lab
Voluntary blood donations are to date the only means to satisfy the growing demand for blood products. Hence, knowledge on professional blood donor management throughout the entire donor cycle is needed to influence blood donor acquisition, retention and recovery positively.
Against this backdrop, a research cooperation was initiated in September 2010. This Social Impact Research Lab brings together DRK Blood Donation Service North-East and the professorships of Prof. Dr. Silke Boenigk and Prof. Dr. Michel Clement from the University of Hamburg. The aim of this cooperation is to use scientific insight on blood donor research as the basis for the new strategies and actions of DRK Blood Donation Service North-East.
With this endeavor, knowledge is gained which contributes to the global task to increase the present and future willingness of people to donate their blood voluntarily.
