From 7 to 10 April, SJ Weber attended the conference Sport and Sustainability in Bern. A PhD Workshop organized by the Institute of Sport Science at the University of Bern was held on the first two days in cooperation with the think tank sportainable, the German Association of Sport Economics and Sport Management, and the Sports Sociology section of the German Society of Sport Science (dvs). The workshop served as an excellent opportunity to engage in dialogue with other young researchers whose work relates to sport and sustainability, and provided valuable input for further research.
At the conference that followed, SJ Weber presented her research in a science slam, in which she finished in first place. This innovative format allowed academic content to be presented to a broader audience in an understandable and entertaining way. The positive feedback and the informal chats that followed provided valuable suggestions for further research elaboration and underscored the relevance of this topic within the academic community.
The conference also offered numerous networking and interdisciplinary dialogue opportunities. The impressions made and the contacts forged will help with further research and will contribute to its content and methodological further development.
