Our PhD students Nils Geib, Laura Hesse and Carolin Saltzmann attended this year's ARNOVA conference (Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action) in Raleigh, North Carolina from November 16-19.
ARNOVA is where the international community of nonprofit scholars and nonprofit practitioners meet.
What issues are currently being researched in philanthropy, nonprofits, and volunteerism? And what is driving nonprofit practice? These are the questions that frame the conference. In addition, it is primarily a place to share research ideas and the latest findings, to discuss with colleagues, and to network.
Laura Hesse, M.Sc. presented her work on peer-to-peer fundraising and a project on crowdfunding mechanisms. Nils Geib's, M.A. presentation provided insights into his research on succession management and leadership development in nonprofit organizations. During a colloquium on nonprofit leadership and transitions, he discussed with other high-profile panelists. Carolin Saltzmann, M.Sc. presented her current work on blood plasma donor recruitment.
