This article deals with how the reputation of funding agencies affects the reputation of nonprofit organizations. The results of the experiment suggest that it is not the funding per se but familiarity with the funding agency that influences the willingness to support a nonprofit organization. However, this effect is only evident for funding by a foundation, not for funding by a ministry. The article is part of the DFG-funded project "Reputation Management for Nonprofit Organizations" and can be downloaded here.
