Borrow a book cart

Store borrowed books and your study materials in a book cart situated directly in the library. Book carts are lockable and mobile. This means you can transport your materials quickly and easily. You can also flexibly choose your workstation.

The service is available to students of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Business Administration.

Please visit the circulation desk to borrow a book cart or, if not immediately available, to reserve one.

We offer this service at our two main locations.

Borrow on site

Visit the circulation desk.
Present your library card and your Stine certificate as proof of your degree program (WISO or BWL faculty).
By borrowing a book cart, you accept the terms of use.
You will receive a key for your book cart.
The book cart is available to you for four weeks.
You can renew the loan period three times via your library account for a further 4 weeks. A renewal is not possible if your cart has been reserved.

Find out about the terms of use.
Send off the completed form. You will then receive a confirmation of your request.
If a cart is immediately available, you will receive a timely pick-up notification.
If all carts are in use, you will only receive a pick-up notification if the cart reserved for you is available. You can see in your library account under "Reservations" when the cart is expected to be returned.
You have 7 working days to pick up your book cart.

Terms of use

The terms of use are accepted by borrowing a book cart.

Students of the WISO/BWL faculties can borrow book carts for storing books and learning materials.
If library books are to be stored in the book cart, they must be borrowed beforehand.
Books must be placed in the cart in such a way that the call number can be seen from the outside.
Do not store food and drink in the cart.
The library team is authorized to open the book cart for inspection and to remove unauthorized books and items.
The library accepts no liability for the loss of or damage to items stored in the book cart.
If a key is lost, the cost of replacing the lock will be charged at €35 plus an administration fee of €20 in accordance with § 1 HmbHG.
In the event of non-compliance with the terms of use, the book cart may be confiscated by the lending library.
If necessary, the library team will reserve your cart for other students. No further renewals can then be carried out.
The cart must be returned on time, otherwise fees will be charged.
