WELL-ORGANIZED THROUGHOUT YOUR STUDIES
See the Service for Students page of the academic office for all the important information you need to help you organize your studies. The page also provides an overview of the services offered by the Socioeconomics Academic Office. There are applications, forms, and contacts organized by topic.
Regulations
Your program is governed in particular by 2 regulations:
the examination regulations (PO) regulate overarching aspects of your studies and apply to all degree programs leading to a master of science degree at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences. The valid PO, amendments, and new versions are published on the Campus Center website.
The PO is supplemented by the subject-specific provisions (FSB). These regulate, for example, the content, learning objectives, module details, and special features of teaching and examinations for your degree program. Different versions of the FSBs apply depending on when you start your studies. To find out which FSB applies to you, please refer to the information on validity on the Campus Center website.
If you have questions, contact the degree program coordinator.
Required electives in the management and economics module
The management and economics module requires a total of 24 ECTS credits (usually 4 courses of 6 ECTS credits each). Every semester, there are a selection of courses from different degree programs. You can also take required elective courses not taken in the specialization in the management and economics module.
Notes on the offer of places:
When offering places after the first round of registration in STiNE, preference is given to students of the degree program offering the course. In the second STiNE registration phase: Anyone who sees a free place and registers will get it. The chances of getting a place vary greatly depending on the degree program.
Information about examinations:
In the courses in the management and economics module, the examination regulations of the degree program offering the courses apply.
The periods for registering, withdrawing, and re-registering for examinations at the Faculty of Business Administration differ from the withdrawing and re-registration periods at the WiSo Faculty and are published on the website of the Business Administration Academic Office.
If you are unable to attend an examination at short notice with good reason (e.g., illness), you must notify the Socioeconomics Academic Office in writing and with proof (e.g., a doctor's note) without delay.
This applies to all examinations, regardless of whether they are offered by the Department of Socioeconomics, the Department of Economics, or the Faculty of Business Administration. Requests to extend the completion time for a term paper or the writing of a presentation must also be submitted to the Socioeconomics Academic Office.
