MA Human Resource Management
The MA in Human Resource Management takes an interdisciplinary approach in order to prepare students for the ever faster evolving forms of work prevalent in today's service-oriented society.
The program specifically addresses situations prone to conflict as well as conflicts of interest between different parties and groups within organizations. The fundamental disciplines of business administration, organizational psychology, and labor law are complemented by issues and questions arising from the fields of sociology and economics.
Besides the core areas of human resource management (staff selection, staff training and development, staff assessment, leadership and cooperation), students also gain specialist knowledge in the fields of operational co-determination, gender policy, organizational theory, and ergonomics.
The program emphasizes key soft skills such as communication and conflict management, team and project management, coaching, and mediation.
Students devise and carry out independent research projects on human resource policy issues which allow them to hone both their knowledge of the field and their methodological skills.
