The "Experimental and Behavioural Economics Laboratory" (EBEL) at the British University of Egypt (BUE) in Cairo, Egypt, started operations with a kick-off event on 25 February 2021.
Since the set-up of the laboratory in Cairo is based on the standards of the WiSo research laboratory at the UHH, simultaneous experimental operation in both laboratories is also possible. Southern and Western populations can interact and be researched synchronously, which is unique in this form worldwide.
The WiSo Research Laboratory assisted in the establishment of the laboratory at the BUE through specialised courses and workshops; exchanges between Egyptian and German researchers also take place. The establishment of the EBEL laboratory in Egypt was funded by the "German Academic Exchange Service" (DAAD).
Further information, for example on booking and conducting experiments in sync, can be found on the WiSo research lab pages.
