Internal research funding

The Dean's Office provides annual funding for the financial support of third-party project applications. A limited amount of material resources are made available for the preparation of third-party-funded project applications (e.g. for preliminary studies, funds for student assistants, contracts for work, etc.). Funding opportunities are regularly announced by means of calls for proposals (in the WiSo newsletter and via this website). The funding can usually be granted to (junior) professors and post-doctoral researchers at the faculty.

For the preparation of project applications for large collaborative projects and in justified exceptional cases (Collaborative Research Centers/"Sonderforschungsbereiche", Research Training Group/"Graduiertenkollegs", etc.), temporary personnel funds can be applied for from the Dean's Office , independent of the call for proposals.

Research funding is approved for specific projects with a clear time limit. The funds are intended to accelerate the preparation of third-party funded project proposals and to support their preparation. It is expected that the third-party funded project application will be submitted to the third-party funding body for review at the end of the research funding period.

Please note that due to the limited resources of the faculty, not all applications for financial support can be granted.
