Dr. Eduardo Gonçalves Gresse will assume the position of Professor of Sociology, particularly focusing on societal dynamics of ecological transformation, starting from 1st November 2024, for the next two years. The PhD sociologist has previously served as a Senior Researcher in the Cluster of Excellence "Climate, Climatic Change, and Society" (CLICCS) at the University of Hamburg.
Eduardo Gresse has published in the fields of international development, sustainable development, and climate change. He is a co-editor and co-author of the Hamburg Climate Futures Outlook study (by CLICCS), deputy editor of the journal "Ambiente e Sociedade," and a member of the Earth System Governance network, the German-Brazilian transdisciplinary project KLIMAPOLIS, as well as the research group on Environment and Society at the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of São Paulo (IEA-USP).
His research interests include sustainability transformations and the plausibility of climate futures, with a focus on consumption patterns and sustainable adaptation to climate change.
