Research
Members of the Department of Social Sciences conduct research within a variety of thematically diverse projects. The research specializations of individual professorships are increasingly being supported and furthered by externally funded research projects. Members of the Department are actively involved in both the Department’s research specializations and in interdisciplinary projects, such as the Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction (CliSAP) cluster of excellence.
One particular focus of the Department’s work is the participation in the Center for Sustainable Society Research (CSS) faculty research center initiated by the Department of Social Sciences.
The broad spectrum of research offers a good framework for doctorates and Habilitationen. More information about both qualifications can be found on the Faculty and Graduate School websites.
For information about current and completed research projects within the individual subject groups and professorships, see the respective website.
