Departmental committee
In the Department of Social Sciences, departmental decisions are made by an elected departmental committee, predominantly made up of professors from the respective subject area as well as a research associate; a member of the technical, library, and administrative staff; and a student.
Committee for Teaching, Studies and Academic Reform
The Committee for Teaching, Studies and Academic Reform (LuSt-Ausschuss) was established to facilitate broad discussion of academic matters. This committee, which is charged with developing resolution recommendations for the board, represents all status groups in the Department. Students and professors have an equal number of votes.
Department student representative committee
The department student representative committee represents the interests of all the Department’s students. As part of Universität Hamburg’s student body, this committee is involved in all committee and body work and has voting rights.
