Doors open: at 7pm
Moderation: Dr. Sarah Tischer
The emissions scandal at VW, corruption at Siemens or the working conditions at the textile factory of H&M are just a few scandals of illegal and unethical practices of companies which have become public lately. This clearly shows that many employees are carrying out these practices and that this is not a misconduct of a single person. “Sustainability and responsibility” are very popular amongst the mission statement of companies as they are good for marketing purposes. How does this match with the collective bribe of clients or the manipulation of software? What has to happen in order for companies to actually act in a more sustainable and ethical way? Which steps need to be taken?
