Pia Geisemann at the Young Scholars’ Conference "Time & Justice"

Pia Geisemann, doctoral researcher at the Chair for Organization Studies, participated in the Young Scholars’ Conference “Time & Justice. Temporal Interrogations into Social-Ecological Justice” from 8 to 10 October 2025. The conference was organized by the Humanities Centre for Advanced Studies “Futures of Sustainability” at the University of Hamburg.

In her presentation “Crisis? What Crisis? The Contestation of Urgency in Creeping Crisis,” Pia contributed to the “Crisis, Rupture, and Transformation” panel, discussing how notions of urgency are constructed and contested in the context of creeping crises.

The interdisciplinary conference brought together young scholars, including doctoral researchers and postdocs from around the world to explore the intersections of temporality, justice, and sustainability. Pia greatly appreciated the opportunity to engage in inspiring discussions, exchange perspectives across disciplines, and take part in a methods workshop on researching time and temporalities.
