The team of the Chair for Organization Studies attended the 41st EGOS conference in Athens from 3 to 5 July. Iris Seidemann served as a co-convenor for sub-theme 40 “Practicing ‘Natural’ Disasters: Creating, Managing, and Reconstructing the ‘Natural’ Disasters Ecosystem within Everyday Practices,” together with Paula Jarzabkowski and Fannie Couture. She also presented two papers: “Drifting into Disconnect: The Emergence of Inverted Path Dependence in Addressing Grand Challenges” co-authored with Daniel Geiger and “The Wicked and the Grand Under the Lens of a Radical Practice Ontology” with Paula Jarzabkowski and Fannie Couture.
Pia Geisemann presented her paper “A turn of time in crisis research: Towards a Pluritemporal and Dynamic Understanding of Time in Crises” in sub-theme 40.
Daniel Geiger convened a sub-theme on “Normalizing of extreme contexts” together with Anja Danner-Schröder (University of Kaiserslautern) and Sophie Jane (Umeå University).
We greatly appreciated the opportunity to engage with colleagues across research communities. The discussions were inspiring, and we’re leaving with renewed energy and valuable insights.
