The Chair for Organization Studies participated in the 85th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 25 to 29 July.
This year’s conference marked a milestone as the first AOM Annual Meeting hosted in Europe, bringing together more than 13,400 participants from over 90 countries and fostering inspiring exchanges across disciplines and research traditions.
Iris Seidemann and Daniel Geiger organized a Professional Development Workshop (PDW) entitled “Race to Extremes? Unpacking Ethical Questions and Dilemmas in Grand Challenge Research,” which explored the ethical complexities and tensions of studying grand challenges.
Dorcas Olawuyi contributed to this workshop as a panelist, enriching the discussion with her insights from fieldwork in Nigeria.
In addition, Daniel Geiger and Iris Seidemann were involved in the PDW “Combining Perspectives to Research Extreme Teams,” further advancing conversations on interdisciplinary approaches to studying organizing in extreme contexts.
The team greatly valued the opportunity to connect with scholars from around the world, exchange ideas, and explore Copenhagen!
