Orientation: A good start to your studies
At the beginning of your master's program at the University of Hamburg, orientation takes place in the week before lectures begin. Higher-semester students in the program organize the 4 days with great commitment and help you find your footing at the University. You will receive all the information you need for a successful start to your studies. You can also find answers to burning questions:

You can sign up for courses via STiNE during orientation in the first semester registration phase.
Before the lecture period begins in mid-October, there are always 4 orientation days organized and run by experienced students from the previous year.
Topics include:
- getting to know us and each other
- Special features of the Department of Socioeconomics and what interdisciplinary study means
- Program structure: What examinations do I have to take before I graduate? Which courses must, can, or should I attend? What kind of electives are there? Which courses build on each other? What kind of examinations are there?
- Organization: What do I have to take care of and where? What is STiNE and how does it work? What is the academic office and what does it do? When do I have to sign up for courses?
