The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences is one of the larger of the University of Hamburg’s 8 faculties and one of the largest of its kind in Germany.
Since its foundation, the faculty has undergone several changes. Since 2014, it has been separated into 3 departments: Socioeconomics, Social Sciences, and Economics.
The Graduate School was established in 2011 as an interdisciplinary institution dedicated to supporting our early career researchers. It consolidates and coordinates the doctoral procedures of the faculty in structured doctoral degree programs, providing a systematic education for our doctoral candidates and maintaining close links with the disciplinary and interdisciplinary research taking place across all departments.
Based on the experiences gained during its foundation and the introduction of a new organizational structure, the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences offers an innovative range of degree programs and works on topical research areas.
