The chair “International Macroeconomics and Financial Markets“ at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, Department of Socioeconomics, at the University of Hamburg invites applications for the following position, to be filled as of 01.10.2024,

Student Research Assistant (“studentische“ or “wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft“)

for 5-7 hours per week for at least six months (with the option to prolong the contract). The work can be done remotely, hence, physical presence in Hamburg is not required.

We do research and teaching in macroeconomics, with a focus on the role of financial markets in the (international) transmission of shocks and the optimal design of different central bank policies. In large parts, the research is of theoretical nature, developing and employing so-called Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) Models. Furthermore, modern econometric methods are employed, such as Local Projections, to confront the model with data.
