Network member Elke Schüßler will host the 15th Organization Studies Summer Workshop together with Rick Delbridge (Cardiff University, Wales), Markus Helfen (University of Innsbruck, Austria), Andi Pekarek (Melbourne University, Australia) and Charlene Zietsma (Smeal College of Business, USA) on the topic of "Organizing Sustainably: Actors, Institutions, and Practices". The call for papers is now open and can be found here.
The main objective of the workshop - and the subsequent special issue in Organization Studies - is to go beyond established ways of thinking about sustainability and towards understanding how new forms of organizing can contribute to the sustainable usage of environmental, social, and economic resources in ways that avoid their degradation and exhaustion through models that will themselves be enduring. Thus, the workshop is closely aligned with the work of our research network. The organizers will also hold a session on "organizing sustainable scholarship" to reflect about our own scholarly practices - such as the practice of conferencing itself - and their positive and negative impact on grand challenges.
