On 11 and 12 May 2026, the Chair for Organization Studies hosted the REBUMAA Review and Status Update Workshop at the University of Hamburg. Project partners from Benin, Nigeria, and Togo traveled to Hamburg, including representatives from national Red Cross societies, partner universities, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). The workshop brought the project partners together to review current progress and coordinate the next phase of the project.
On the first day, the country teams and partner institutions presented their current project status. The Togo and Benin teams reported on ongoing activities and recent developments, while the IFRC and IDRC/FCDO provided updates from their respective perspectives. The University of Hamburg team presented emerging findings from the research process.
The second day focused on planning the next phase of the project. Participants discussed the next steps for each country, presented planned activities, and worked together to identify common themes and best practices across the various project contexts. These sessions helped compare implementation experiences and align the work of the partner teams for the coming months. The workshop ended with a harbor cruise that offered participants insights into Hamburg’s flood management practices.
The workshop provided an opportunity to review the current progress of REBUMAA, clarify upcoming tasks, and strengthen coordination between the participating institutions. The Chair for Organization Studies appreciated welcoming the project partners to Hamburg and looks forward to continuing the collaboration in the next phase of the project.
