From 22 February to 7 March, Daniel Geiger, Dorcas Olawuyi, and Pia Geisemann from the Chair for Organization Studies traveled to Nigeria to participate in the Mid-Term Review Meeting of the REBUMAA project.
During the first week, the team was based in Abuja, working from the office of the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS). There, they conducted a series of interviews with project stakeholders and collaborators. These conversations provided valuable insights into the operational processes behind the NRCS’s emergency response activities as well as into the next planned steps within the REBUMAA project.
In the second week, the team traveled to Lagos to take part in the project’s Mid-Term Review Meeting. The meeting aimed to assess the progress of the REBUMAA project, document effective practices that have emerged so far, and examine challenges encountered during implementation. Building on these reflections, the participants jointly developed recommendations to strengthen the remaining phase of the project.
The team greatly valued the opportunity to reconnect in person with Nigerian colleagues from the Red Cross and the University of Ibadan. The exchange of experiences and ideas in a face-to-face setting created space for productive discussions and new perspectives on the project’s future development.
After two inspiring and productive weeks, the team now looks forward to welcoming the project partners to Hamburg in May for the next Review & Status Update Workshop.
