Innovation is increasingly important as the source of sustainable competitive advantage for firms around the world and for societies to prosper. However, building an organization to successfully and repeatedly bring innovations to the markets is a daunting challenge. In this course, we focus on the practices and processes that managers use to organize innovation. The aim of this course is to provide students with a combination of theoretical and applied knowledge on organizing innovation. The course focuses on both the challenges and opportunities firms face when organizing for innovation and engaging in the creation and commercialization of new products or services. The course examines the challenge to building and maintaining an innovative organization, the role of creativity, and how individuals can successfully innovate in organizations. Transfer is a central concern of the University of Hamburg, encompassing both knowledge transfer and technology transfers. While knowledge transfers include the dialog between science, politics, and the society at large, technology transfers focus on the cooperation and collaboration between science and industry in order to transform scientific discoveries into marketable products and services. Um gesellschaftliche Ziele zu erreichen, müssen politische Maßnahmen effektiv umgesetzt werden. Der belastende Verwaltungsaufwand („administrative burden“), also die beschwerlichen Erfahrungen, die Menschen beim Zugang zu öffentlichen Leistungen oder Diensten machen, beeinträchtigen die Umsetzung politischer Maßnahmen erheblich und untergraben häufig die zentralen Ziele, zu deren Erreichung die Maßnahmen überhaupt getroffen wurden. Dieser Kurs befasst sich mit dem Konzept des „administrative burden“, wobei wir einer Reihe von Schlüsselfragen nachgehen:
