A comment by CGG Director Anita Engels on the IPCC Special Report and on whether the 1.5 degrees Celsius goal is still realistic can be found here.
CGG member and Junior Professor Stefan Aykut also provides his expertise on the 1.5°C target and the IPCC's Special Report in an interview in Le Monde on 9 October 2018. You can find the full article here [only available in French].
Just over a week before the publication of the IPCC's new Special Report on Climate Change on 8 October 2018, experts - amongst them Dr. Oliver Geden, visiting researcher at the CGG - explained the scientific background and pointed out special features of the report at the press conference of the Deutsche Klima-Konsortium (DKK). In view of the current state of research, they made it clear that far-reaching and much faster changes are necessary in order to achieve the Paris climate targets.
The CGG is a member of DKK.
On the DKK website you can find the complete press release (click here) [only available in German].
See here for the pre-announcement of the press conference on the CGG homepage.
