We warmly welcome Dr Janina Zölch and Dr Julian Müller as senior lecturers at the Department of Social Sciences of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at Universität Hamburg. Dr Janina Zölch holds the senior lecturer position for qualitative research methods and Dr Julian Müller is (currently part-time) senior lecturer for sociological theory.
The position of senior lecturer was newly introduced at the university and has this summer semester been filled for the first time. In addition to extensive teaching duties, both colleagues conduct research and also take on a small proportion of organisational tasks in the department.
Dr Janina Zölch studied educational science, sociology and psychology at the University of Hamburg. She has already worked as a research assistant on various research projects in Hamburg and Flensburg. She was also a deputy professor and coordinator of a graduate programme at the University of Hamburg. Most recently, she was a lecturer at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. With a great deal of experience and passion, she teaches primarily on the topics of qualitative research methods and social inequalities.
Dr Julian Müller studied sociology and philosophy in Tübingen and Munich. He was a former assistant professor (“Akademischer Rat a. Z.”) at the LMU Munich and most recently held deputy professorships in Marburg and Duisburg-Essen as well as visiting professorships at the TU Graz and the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. His research topics include sociological theory, cultural sociology and political sociology.
