Borrowing and Return

• Come see us at the circulation desk. All you need to borrow an item is your  valid library card.
• Please return the borrowed items to the staff at the circulation desk on the same day, otherwise we will be charging late return fees.
• Please return the borrowed item directly to the circulation desk.

Terms of use

• Items borrowed from the "Library of Things" are intended to assist users in learning and working on-site in library spaces.
• The library does not accept any liability for defects in the user's device that may occur as a result of using the items.
• The use of the items is permitted only on the library premises and for the purpose for which they are intended.
• The  borrowed item must be returned on the same day within the opening hours.
• Overdue fees: Fees according to the „Gebührenordnung für wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg" (German only) in its current version will be charged as soon as the items have not been returned on the same day.
• In case of loss, destruction or return of the item in damaged condition, the purchase price of the item must be paid, according to § 7 Abs 10 of the „Benutzungsordnung der Bibliotheken der WiSo-Fakultät“ (German only). The library regulations have been accepted upon receipt of the library card.
• Users are informed of the purchase price when they borrow items. The price is also visible in the library account.
