Herzlich willkommen, Professor Anthony Cheung!

Professor Anthony Cheung wird im Wintersemester die Lehre im Bereich BWL, insb. Externe Rechnungslegung, Prüfung und Nachhaltigkeit vertreten. Hintergrund ist, dass Prof. Dr. Kerstin Lopatta in diesem Zeitraum für ihre Mitwirkung in der DFG-Kollegforschungsgruppe „Zukünfte der Nachhaltigkeit“ freigestellt ist.

Professor Cheung verfügt über umfassende akademische und praktische Expertise in den Bereichen Green und Sustainable Investment, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) sowie Klimagovernance in der Asien-Pazifik-Region. Derzeit ist er Adjunct Professor an der City University of Hong Kong und Managing Director sowie Head of Sustainability bei einer der größten Multi-Manager-Investmentplattformen Asiens. Seine berufliche Laufbahn umfasst leitende Tätigkeiten im Asset Management in London, Singapur und Hongkong.

Professor Cheung engagiert sich aktiv in den Bereichen Sustainability Governance und in Nachhaltigkeitscommunity in APAC. Er ist Mitglied des Council des Hong Kong Institute of Directors (HKIoD), gehört den Boards von Friends of the Earth (HK), dem GHG Protocol, der World Benchmarking Alliance sowie eines an der Hong Kong Exchange gelisteten Unternehmens an, bei dem er den ESG-Ausschuss leitet. Zudem ist er Fellow von CPA Australia.

Welcome, Professor Anthony Cheung!

We are pleased to announce that Professor Anthony Cheung will be teaching Business Administration (Winter Semester), with a focus on Financial Accounting, Auditing, and Sustainability. He will be covering these courses while Prof. Dr. Kerstin Lopatta is on leave to participate in the DFG Humanities Centre of Advanced Studies “Futures of Sustainability.”

 Professor Cheung brings deep academic and practitioner expertise in green and sustainable investment, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and climate governance in the Asia Pacific region. He currently serves as Adjunct Professor of the City University of Hong Kong, and is Managing Director and Head of Sustainability at one of Asia's largest multi-manager investment platform. His practical experience spans senior asset‑management roles in London, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Professor Cheung is actively involved in sustainability governance and the wider professional community. He serves on the Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors (HKIoD), sits on the boards of Friends of the Earth (HK), the GHG Protocol, the World Benchmarking Alliance, and a listed company on the Hong Kong Exchange where he chairs the ESG Committee. He is also a Fellow of CPA Australia.
