Workshop: The Global Opportunity Structure for Climate Action. Theorizing Global Societal Agency towards Decarbonization.
1. Juli 2021
A virtual workshop organized by Stefan Aykut and Antje Wiener
The aim of the meeting is to discuss and further develop a key concept of the first Hamburg Climate Futures Outlook, namely the Global Opportunity Structure for Climate Action. This will be done on the basis of a draft paper the provides further detail on the concept and a series of inputs from discussants with different disciplinary backgrounds. The event is planned as the opening panel of an ongoing discussion on the subject of global societal agency towards decarbonization. It seeks to bring together scholars from International Relations, transitions studies and social science climate research.
The panel will take place on 9 July from 2 to 5 PM CEST (online), and is sponsored by the Advances Humanities Centre Futures of Sustainability at Hamburg University as well as the Excellence Cluster on Climate, Climatic Change, and Society (CLICCS). It will be held via Zoom.
