Application for retroactive admission to a course
To apply for subsequent registration in a course, you must have already tried to register for the course via STiNE by the deadline in the first registration phase.
In the Department of Social Sciences, the number of participants is limited for seminars, foundation courses, and practical courses. Students’ preferences will be taken into account in the allocation process wherever possible. Nonetheless, the allocation of places can cause hardship in individual cases. To address this, students can submit a hardship application at the beginning of the STiNE changes phase so that they may be admitted retroactively, providing the following criteria are met:
- the date or location of a course is not acceptable for a student with a disability or chronic illness, for a parent of a child or children under the age of 12, or for a student caring for a relative
- there are scheduling clashes with mandatory courses
- the student will experience other hardships resulting from their life situation.
If you are not offered a place in the first registration phase, try to register again on the first day of the second registration or changes phase.
Processing of requests for retroactive registration can only begin at the start of the lecture period (not beforehand!) and should be submitted by the end of the first week of the lecture period.
The request applies to courses in the Department of Social Sciences and/or the teacher training degree program component in social sciences.
Please note that once you click “send,” you will again be prompted to check your application for completeness and that you must click “send” a second time. Only after you successfully send the request will the window “Message sent” appear.
