In this phase doctoral researchers have to take one compulsory course in job market preparations and have the option to take an additional course in science communication.
Job Market Seminar (Compulsory)
The Hamburg Research Academy offers job market seminars for both the academic and the non-academic job market, ranging from courses in which doctoral researchers learn how to compile their individual application materials, to workshops in which specific occupational fields or employers are introduced, to application and interview training sessions. The participating researchers will complement the range of seminars for the academic job market by offering a training session for job market presentations and interviews.
Science Communication and Knowledge Transfer (Optional)
This course is offered by the Hamburg Research Academy and will provide specific training on presenting research results to decision-makers in business and politics as well as to a general audience, e.g. through media.
