7 January 2021
The VW Foundation has approved the externally funded project submitted by Katharina Manderscheid together with Mr. Follmer (infas) entitled "Lasting changes and inequality of everyday familiy life during the Corona pandemic" under the call for proposals "Corona crisis and beyond - perspectives for science, scholarship and society". The funding period is 18 months. The aim of the research project is to investigate the medium- and long-term effects of the Corona pandemic on the everyday life of families in different social strata and thus on social inequality relations. Oriented on the Marienthal study (Jahoda, Lazarsfeld, Zeisel), the situation in two contrasting communities will be compared. Methodologically, standardized online interviews, evaluations of regional statistics and a qualitative survey will be used. In addition, a film project is planned to accompany the study and make its results accessible to a broader public.
