Spatio-temporal dimensions of location-flexible work
Project: Spatio-temporal dimensions of location-flexible work. Social and ecological potentials and risks in the field of tension between work and living

The project investigates the socio-spatial interplay of changing forms of work and the ecological reconstruction of settlement structures, traffic and mobility. We are investigating the question of how new location-flexible work relationships are shaped spatially and in terms of everyday life, and what consequences result from this for workers and for settlement and mobility structures. So far, only partial findings are available, either with regard to the change of the working environment or to changes in mobility behavior. What is new in this project is that the spatio-temporal organization of work and everyday life and the resulting mobility requirements are problematized. In this way, relevant distribution and participation issues in the socio-ecological transformation are to be made visible.
