Vacancy Notice : POLICY ADVISER ECON committee
This is to inform you that the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament is looking for a full-time replacement for the position of ECON adviser (fixed-term contractual agent contract, function group III, Contract until 31/12/2019).
Indicative starting date: 1st of February 2018
TASKS to be performed
- Advising and coordinating the group and MEPs on policy issues related
to ECON and in particular on financial services policy issues - Following the political agenda of the ECON committee
- Preparing and inspiring discussion on respective reports and amendments
on committee and group level - Preparing and developing political initiatives towards the public
- Writing briefings and preparing voting lists for reports at committee
and plenary level - Establishing working relations to the European Parliament and the
European institutions and relevant international institutions - Networking and coordination with the relevant stakeholders including
social partners, NGOs on EU and Member State level as well as with
Greens in national and regional parliaments
QUALIFICATION and experience required
- Excellent level of English
- Good level of French or German as additional language ? other EU-
languages are an asset - Working experience in line with the function
- In-depth knowledge regarding the scope of the ECON Committee and in
particular financial services policy. Working experience in the ECON
Committee is desirable - Experience and general knowledge of the functioning of the European
decision making process in general - Experience in an political environment and a multicultural surrounding;
knowledge of the Greens/EFA political positions are assets
