Angelica Giorgini is a communication scientist at the University of Hamburg. Her research focuses on climate change communication and computational social sciences.

She received her Master's degree with distinction in Communication and Information Sciences, specializing in climate and environmental communication, from Tilburg University, following earlier studies at the University of Bologna. Her Master's thesis, Fields of Tension, examined communication dynamics between Italian farmers and institutional actors in the context of climate change and Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reform. This work informs her broader research on climate communication and emotion.

Since August 2026, Angelica Giorgini has been working as a PhD Candidate and Research Associate in the team of Prof. Dr. Katharina Kleinen-von Königslöw at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg.

Within the DFG-funded Cluster of Excellence Climate, Climatic Change, and Society (CLICCS II), her research contributes to two Social Dynamics projects: in Climate Emotions, she examines the affective and emotional dimensions of climate discourse, while in Contested Climate Futures: Discursive Powerplay in the Media, she explores how competing discourses shape perceptions of which climate futures are possible and plausible.
