Transfer to new subject-specific provisions (FSB)

The subject‑specific provisions (FSBs) which have been confirmed by the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences on 16 July 2025 apply to students who start the PEP program in the winter semester 2026/27 or later. Students who started PEP earlier may transfer to the new curriculum.

Please read the information below if you are considering a transfer. If you have any questions, please contact the PEP program coordination. As of the winter semester 2027/28, the new regulations will automatically apply to all students.

Module equivalences between FSBs

Students who transfer will receive credit for courses taken before winter semester 2026/27.
Students who passed Social Choice and Welfare, (International) Political Economy, and / or Economics and Politics of Institutions before winter semester 2026/27 will receive 8 ECTS credits for each of these modules under the new subject-specific provisions (FSBs).
Interdisciplinary Seminars will be recognized with 8 ECTS credits each. The remaining 4 ECTS credits from one seminar can be credited towards the “Research Seminars” module.
Students who transfer must take the new modules Quantitative Methods, Decision and Game Theory, and Research Seminars.

Transfer to the new subject-specific provisions (FSB)

Transfer is recommended for students

who started in WiSe 2025/26 or earlier and plan or need to study longer than SuSe 2027,
who want to get a basic training in quantitative methods and in decision and game theory and build a strong profile in one of the three subject areas of political science, economics, and philosophy.
