Student Life
On and around the main campus of Universität Hamburg, you can find just about everything you need for a successful student life – and lucky for you, both the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Business Administration are located here. You will probably spend a good part of your day on campus, but certainly not just to attend lectures or seminars.
When you need a quiet place to study, want to borrow a book or need access to computers and printers, try out one of the many libraries on campus. The main library “Stabi”, the library for business and economics and the library for social sciences are just some of the options you have. The libraries also offer areas for group work.
For a computer workspace with internet access, you can also go to a CiP-Pool, of which there are several on campus, or to the Rechenzentrum (RRZ). There are also options to print, copy and scan in those places; or you can find one of many copy shops on campus if you need a script or paper printed.
When you need a break from your work, maybe something to eat and drink is a good idea. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, the cafeterias (“Mensa”) and cafes on campus offer delicious food at very fair prices all day long. After your meal, we suggest getting some fresh air. Either join the other students who are relaxing around the Ententeich in the campus center, or take a walk in the Planten un Blomen park not far from university.
If you need anything from groceries to books, the streets adjoining the campus, like the Grindelallee and Grindelhof offer many shops where you can get all the essentials.
And after your hard studying is done, the Pony Bar on campus invites you to unwind in a cozy atmosphere. Or maybe you want to catch a movie: the Abaton Cinema is right next door, and once a week the Audimax becomes a movie theatre for students as well.
