Semester Contribution

You do not have to pay any study fees at Universität Hamburg, but you are obligated to pay the semester contribution. Free mover students have to pay a full amount, our exchange incoming students receive a 50€ discount.

Students enrolled at Universität Hamburg will receive a semester public transport pass from the Hamburg Transport Association (HVV) upon paying their semester contribution. Passes ensure mobility throughout the whole semester with the following sparks:

• validity all around the clock within the entire HVV network
• lesser costs than comparable HVV ticket subscriptions for trainees and students
• free transport of up to three children aged 6–14

Semester public transport passes are non-transferable.
