Prof. Dr. Katharina Kleinen-von Königslöw is professor for Journalism and Communication Studies, with a focus on Digital Communication and Sustainability at the Department of Social Sciences since 2016. Her research focuses on the impacts of social network platforms on the political public sphere, on phenomena such as polarization, emotionalization, and destabilization. At the moment, Katharina is particularly interested in disinformation campaigns and applies both (semi)automatic content analysis and experimental methods to investigate their spread on social media. Her research has previously attracted funding by FWF, SNF and DFG, she is currently a member of the Cluster of Excellence CLICCS (Climate, Climatic Change, and Society) and Vice-Dean of Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences.
