|The seminar Applied Business Ethics is part of the international MIBAS Summer School of Sustainability taking place from June 20 to July 15, 2016. Our seminar focuses primarily on the relationship between theory and practice in business ethics. The seminar will be held in English, meaning that coursework, presentations and papers will also have to be submitted in English.
Among the potential topics to be covered in this seminar are:
|Students will acquire knowledge of theoretical concepts of business ethics (e.g. Shared Value and Political CSR) that will then be applied to practices of international companies. They will be enabled to apply their learnings to specific practical problems and reflect upon the ethical aspects of business behavior.
|Students are required to write a paper and give a presentation to earn credit points. The seminar is thus divided as follows: on June 22, 2016, it will start with a kick-off meeting at which the students will be briefed on the overall subject of the seminar. They will then be allocated individual presentation topics. On July 11, 2016, the groups come together in a second meeting to present and discuss the assigned topics. In the aftermath, the participants will write a short paper.
|Introductory literature will be provided following the kick-off meeting.
