Sick note
Students who for health reasons miss an examination or an examination deadline or withdraw from an examination must provide the examinations board responsible with a credible explanation of their inability to take the examination.
Medical certificates must be submitted to the Academic Office Economics within seven days from the date of issue. Please send your medical certificate by mail to the responsible person of the course and examination management.
Please note that requirements might vary between the degree programs.
BSc in Economics or a minor in economics
The requirements for the medical certificate that serves as a sick note for written and oral exams
Students pursuing the BSc in Economics or a minor in economics must submit a standard certificate of incapacity in this case. Please submit your certificate of incapacity along with the form for sick notes for an examination or an informal letter to the academic office. The letter should include the following information:
- your name
- your complete address
- your telephone number and email address
- your student ID number and
- information about which examination(s) you cannot take due to illness (examination, examiner, and date of written examination)
The requirements for the medical certificate that serves as a sick note for final theses
Students earning a BSc in Economics must submit a qualified medical certificate in this case.
It is easiest to ask your physician to fill out the form for sick notes for an examination (qualified medical certificate).
Please note that certificates of incapacity (yellow slips of paper) that include a diagnosis code do not qualify as and cannot replace a qualified medical certificate!
BA in the Economy and Culture of China
The requirements for the medical certificate that serves as a sick note for written and oral exams
Students pursuing the BA in the Economy and Culture of China must submit a standard certificate of incapacity in this case. Please submit your certificate of incapacity along with the form for sick notes for an examination or an informal letter to the academic office. The letter should include the following information:
