The Center for Sustainable Society Research is pleased to announce the launch of a new working group!
The working group titled "Climate Change Exposure and Social Media – Public Opinion and Elite Communication" seeks to explore questions surrounding the strategic use of communication by political parties in response to climate change and extreme weather events and therefor combines three different data sources in their analyses: original social media text data, that allows to grasp the elite discourse of candidates and incumbents surrounding climate change, geo-referenced weather data on temperature anomalies and extreme events, and existing survey data measuring public opinion.
The members of the working group are Prof. Dr. Katharina Kleinen-von-Königslöw, Prof. Dr. Grischa Perino, Prof. Dr. Kai-Uwe Schnapp, Prof. Dr. Vera E. Troeger, Jessica Haak and Sofia Morét.
