# Kolloquium Rural Studies, 5-6 October 2023Exchange on research on rural areas

Doctoral students who are working on rural areas in a qualitative way and who are interested in an interdisciplinary exchange are invited to attend the #4 Kolloquium Rural Studies. Contributions from the following (and related) disciplines are welcome: Anthropology, Geography, Social Work, Sociology, Cultural, Political and Planning Studies. The colloquium is organized by PhD students for PhD students and will take place in German.
Topic: Meanings and functions of rural areas have been changing considerably in the past decades, which can be seen in the increasing heterogeneity of the ways of living and working of its inhabitants. Research perspectives on rural areas from social sciences are diverse, but often underrepresented. The colloquium offers interdisciplinary exchange to young scientists currently researching rural areas in this regard, thereby aiming to support each other in the research process and to establish a long-term network.
It will take place from October 5 to 6 at the University of Vechta. For more information and the call for participation, see here [pdf, German]. All participants are asked to contribute.
