Doctoral students who are working on rural areas in a qualitative way and who are interested in an interdisciplinary exchange are invited to attend the #3 Kolloquium Rural Studies. Contributions from the following (and related) disciplines are welcome: Anthropology, Geography, Social Work, Sociology, Cultural, Political and Planning Studies. The colloquium is organized by PhD students for PhD students and will take place in German.
Topic: Media and scientific descriptions of rural areas often move between the poles of idealization and problematization. Yet rural everyday life, living and care worlds, socio-ecological transformation experiences and the rural as political are as diverse as the perspectives on rural spaces themselves. The aim of the colloquium is to bring together such current research perspectives on rural spaces in an interdisciplinary way in order to discuss land and and rurality, to support each other in the research process, and to establish a long-term network.
It will take place from October 27 to 28 at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt. For more information and the call for participation, see here [pdf, German]. All participants are asked to contribute.
