The "Hamburger Horizonte" conference, which has been held annually since 2017, took place this year from 18 to 19 November at Hamburg City Hall and the KörberForum. It brings together scientists and experts with the Hamburg public. The aim is an open exchange on socially relevant issues. The series is organised by the Körber Foundation and the Hamburg Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS). This year, the focus was on the many "turning points" that are being discussed in the face of climate change, such as the energy transition. The event tried to find out according to which mechanisms such changes work.
Three CSS members were invited as experts in the panel discussions of the conference: Stefan Aykut participated in the panel "Turning away, but how? - Control and designability of turnarounds"; Anita Engels contributed to the subsequent debate "Turn towards, but where? - Fix point energy transition"and Frank Adloff was part of the last panel "Use, but what? - Consumer behaviour and responsibility".
An summary of the event as well can be found here.
